About Kathy

Kathy is a Mother, Psychotherapist, Writer, and Speaker. She is passionate about helping families to create the peace and joy they desire.

Having parented 2 sons for more than 23 years, she is knowledgeable and compassionate about the joys and challenges of parenting. Through the years she has continued to develop skills for creating positive relationships with her sons. Her goal has been to support their well-being, her own, and that of the family. Kathy has also experienced her own humanness along the way in parenting and in so "wishing I knew then what I know now.

Kathy transforms her awareness and humanness into a delight that results from assisting parents to “know” earlier.  By picking up tools and practices now, they are empowered to get to where they want to go with their child and family. Much of this process is about helping parents access their own discernment between “old school parenting advice and socialization”, and parenting from a perspective that is strongly rooted in wisdom that works for both short-term and long-term goals for their child's and family's well-being and success.

Kathy holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. She has more than 21 years experience in working with children, adolescents, families, and adults, including work with community mental health centers, in-home therapy, adolescent day treatment, hospice, a domestic violence recovery program for women and their children, open adoption, and health and fitness work with children and adults.

Kathy's experience and ongoing professional development has been key for her skill level. Ultimately, it is the blend of her specialized experience with her own real life parenting that has been most powerful in her development and ability to assist parents.
