Through the summer:
Colorado Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families

Also, meet Susan Mitchell, a nurse practitioner with Clinica Campesina in Lafayette, who helps organize an adoption camp held every year at the YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch of the Rockies.  This particular camp is for families that have adopted children from India and Nepal, and runs July 11-13.  It is in Frazer, Colorado and is part of Colorado Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families.  Families come from all over the US and they and their children re-connect with their friends at the camp every year.

In the India and Nepal camp that Susan helps organize, children attend camp for 2 days with camp counselors from either Indian or Nepali heritage and learn cultural activities from their respective culture and have an opportunity to share their adoption experiences.

Camps throughout the summer are held for families who have adoptive children from diverse cultural backgrounds, including:

African-Caribbean

Cambodian

Chinese

Filipino

Korean

Latin American

Russian/ Eastern European/ Central Asian

Vietnamese

see www.heritagecamps.org for more information about all of the camps

Be sure to check out the Resources page on their website; it is full of helpful organizations & even a place where the children who have taken part in the camps, can stay in touch with one another!
